Robert & Kristen make Time Magazines 2009 People Who Mattered List!

People Who Mattered:
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart of Twilight

It's been at least a decade since we had a pair of authentic, shriek-inducing, catch-me-when-I-faint teen idols on our hands. But suddenly, OMG, they're back. What makes the stars of the Twilight series so idolizable? It's partly that ineffable combination of dirtiness and innocence: they're sexy, but they're not sexual. They're also not generically beautiful. God knows they're hot enough, but they look interesting too. Intelligent. Slightly askew. You don't just want to look at them or sleep with them; you want to talk to them. Like the vampire Pattinson plays onscreen, you can see that once upon a time they were merely human, just like us.

Robert Pattinson is MTV News #6 Man of the Year 2009

(Of course we think he should be #1!!!!!)

Robert Pattinson Is MTV News' #6 Man Of The Year

RPattz expanded on his success in 2009 with a red-carpet-stealing Oscars appearance and the record-shattering 'New Moon.'

6. Robert Pattinson

In 2009, all eyes were on RPattz. Despite only releasing one movie, there were few people whose face sold more magazines, whose every word made more of a ripple and whose public appearances caused such a stir. Under such pressure, a lot of 23-year-old actors would end up getting into trouble, indulging to the point of excess and disappointing their fans. But somehow, the uniquely suited-for-stardom Robert Pattinson took it all with a good-natured grin and self-deprecating charm. In "Twilight" and beyond, his future seems so bright that he'll likely be sparkling for quite some time.

2009 Highlights: We all know Rob had a busy 2009, and everybody had their own thoughts on what he should do after "Twilight." Few saw his first move coming, however, as he dropped out of the indie flick "Parts Per Billion," leaving producer/star Rosario Dawson sad but promising the show would go on. In February, he showed up at the Oscars and stole attention away from stars as big as Brad and Angelina. Despite expressing fears that he might become "Twilighted out" while shooting "New Moon" and "Eclipse" back-to-back, he nevertheless got back to work as Edward Cullen.

At the MTV Movie Awards, Rob unveiled a new trailer from "New Moon," Kristen Stewart left him longing for a cold shower, and he cracked up watching KStew fumble her trophy. During an exclusive interview, he promised that "New Moon" would look "amazing." Rob later returned for the Video Music Awards alongside Kristen and Taylor Lautner and helped raise eyebrows with their fashionable duds.

Despite rumors that his reduced screen presence in "New Moon" would keep him away, Rob made a surprise appearance at San Diego's Comic-Con to show off footage from the movie, reflect on a hallucinating Bella and hang out with the geeks. Things sure were a lot different than they were a year ago — even if Rob insisted he's stayed the same.

In the midst of all the hype, rumors and insanity, Rob actually managed to make movement on some non-"Twilight" movies in 2009. His romantic drama "Remember Me," opposite Emilie de Ravin, had a memorable time shooting in New York, which appears to have left him brooding after that time he was almost killed by a taxi — or barely grazed, depending on whom you ask. He also signed on to "Unbound Captives," a western co-starring Rachel Weisz that offered Rob the chance to play a character who "can't really be more different from Edward." He also signed on to "Bel Ami," a film that pits him opposite Uma Thurman as a "totally immoral character."

A Look Back On Robert Pattinson's 2009

But all that paled in comparison to when he hit the "New Moon" premiere, looking fashionable as he greeted the fans and talked about the good and bad parts of being, well, him. Fans freaked out when he hit the Hot Topic tour opening night, and in a very revealing Rough Cut with MTV News, he spoke about his lack of endorsement deals, why "New Moon" is his favorite "Twilight" book, what he loves about Kristen and Edward's annoying habit of parking his Volvo across multiple parking spaces.

To make a long story short, "New Moon" had a record-shattering opening and became one of the biggest films of 2009. Now, with Taylor Lautner hosting "Saturday Night Live," we continue to hope that RPattz can't be far behind — so let the guy write a sketch already! Edward might be a jerk, but of all the dudes who hang out in our office on a regular basis, Rob will always remain our favorite seasonal vegetable.

We'll be rolling out our list of the Top 9 Men and Women of 2009 two per day until Friday, when we unveil MTV News' Man and Woman of the year! As always, we also want to know what you think, so weigh in with comments below, or upload them to Your.MTV.com!

Fan Made Eclipse Trailer - helps Twilight Saga Fans hang on!

OKAY Twi Fans don't get me wrong!  I'm loving all the New Moon glory, really I am -- I've seen the movie 12 times already, and will see it on the big screen yet again!  I am so proud for Summit and the Cast and Crew that New Moon has already made over $620 million dollars worldwide!  I am ecstatic about that fact!  I am the #1 campaigner for #GoSeeNewMoonAgain, #TruFact!

OK - Twilight sold me, New Moon has captivated me, and now I'm ready for the PR to begin for Eclipse!  Aren't you?????  I mean seriously within a mere 4 days after New Moon filming wrapped, we have our first teaser trailer for New Moon.  OK fans, do the math!!!  Eclipse filming wrapped almost 2 months ago!  YES that's right!!!  It's 196 days 11 hours until Eclipse!!  Okay, I know some of you think we had too much New Moon videos, trailers, etc. before the movie released.  Well maybe we did, but you can bet your last dollar, I watched them all!  YES, I did over and over!  So maybe we don't need quite as much for Eclipse (oh who am I teasing here, yes we do!!!!), but is a short & sweet teaser trailer too much to ask Summit @Twilight for????? I mean come on!!!!!

Well since my many Twitter request have fallen on deaf ears over at Summit for either an Eclipse trailer or official confirmation on Breaking Dawn (yeah, best not to get me started on that subject).  I have decided to post this AWESOME fan made trailer for Eclipse -- At least we have something!

ENJOY!  It really is quite good!

Thanks to sanyiaa for sharing this video with us!

Saturday Night Magazine: Celebrity Spotlight: Bryce Dallas Howard

She may have a last name that rivals most Hollywood heavyweights, but don’t think Bryce Dallas Howard rose to fame riding on her father’s coattails. Before starring in big name blockbusters like Terminator Salvation and Spider-Man 3, Ron Howard’s daughter paid her dues.

Thanks to a reputable background in theater, where she caught the eye of director M. Night Shyamalan who cast her in two of his biggest films, The Village and Lady In The Water, Howard’s career has blossomed on the big screen. This month, she emerges as a 1920s debutante in Tennessee Williams’ The Loss Of A Teardrop Diamond and next year will soon be seen as Victoria in the The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (replacing Rachelle Lefevre). While there may still be some skeptics (nothing can stop an angry Twilight blogger after all), Howard continues to make a name for herself all on her own.

SNMag: So you have a film coming out this month, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond?

Bryce Dallas Howard: Yes, it comes out in select cities on December 30.

SNMag: Could you tell us more about the project and how you came to get involved with it?

BDH: It was such an amazing thing. I had enormous excitement when Jodie (Markell, the film's director) invited me to do the film. It was brave on her part because typically women who are pregnant don’t get movies. (laughs) But, Jodie, she’s a mother and she was incredibly inspiring and said, “You know I really think that you can do it and I will be really supportive of you and let’s play together.” That got me involved. Jodie reached out, and I’m really grateful.

SNMag: We heard that you were her first choice for the role of Fisher Willow. What are your thoughts on that?

BDH: The fact that she would feel that way is astonishing and humbling, and it was amazing to work with somebody who is also an actress because she knew this character so well. She knew this character not only from the perspective of a filmmaker but from the perspective of an actress. I could really rely on her in ways that I haven’t in previous projects. It was really great. It feels like this role was a genuine collaboration.

SNMag: When you initially applied to drama school you chose to drop your last name. Is that something that you’ve had to worry about, getting special treatment because of your father’s career?

BDH: That’s definitely something I think about a lot because I’m all about fairness. I have a huge thing about justice in life. I want to achieve things by my own merit. I’m really grateful to have a family that has an immense amount of wisdom, but I didn’t feel comfortable just going out there professionally with the Howard name. To be honest, I don’t think it would have made a difference. At the end of the day people just need an actor that does a good job. For my own well-being, I needed to remove my name at first so that I would never question that. My sister is an actress and she’s the same way. We’re just super sensitive to that. It goes back to justice and wanting to be fair. The idea that there’s another actress out there that’s better and not being hired because I know someone who is friends with my dad, I could never stomach that.

SNMag: What has it been like joining the cast of Twilight?

BDH: It’s a really extraordinary series and obviously the franchise really reflects what Stephenie Meyer has created with a lot of integrity. She’s so involved with the movies and it is really wonderful. It’s really an incredible storytelling moment. And people are really connecting with and responding to that. So I read the books and I just did my best for the character Victoria. I just wanted to do my best not to interfere with the books.

Kristen Stewart Is MTV News' #7 Woman Of 2009

'Twilight' star kept her indie cred with 'Adventureland' and broke box-office records with 'New Moon.'

Which stars had the biggest year? All this week, we'll be unveiling our top nine men and women of 2009, counting down to the #1 man and woman on Friday.

7. Kristen Stewart

At 19 years old, she already has an amazing 23 films under her belt. Yet, Kristen Stewart entered 2009 with a lot of questions: Was "Twilight" a fluke? How would the notoriously press-shy starlet handle A-list fame? And would "New Moon" "kill" her, as she promised?

2009 Highlights: It all began in the snowy mountains of Park City, Utah, where a bundled-up KStew arrived at the Sundance Film Festival to discover that paparazzi were everywhere — quite a difference from early 2008, when she walked down the streets unbothered. The "Twilight" star was there to unveil "Adventureland," a sweet coming-of-age drama that was well-received by critics and became a minor hit nationwide in April. Of course, 2010 will start out similarly for Kristen, as she'll be at Sundance next month with two films.

As the "New Moon" hype continued to build, KStew kept her indie cred intact. In March, she played a teenager suffering from a fatal nerve disease in "The Cake Eaters," a tiny character drama directed by Mary Stuart Masterson. KStew researched her role by spending time with real-life sufferers of Friedreich's ataxia and admitted that although she had a busy year ahead, she was glad the "Twilight" sequels were all filming so closely together.

Then, of course, the real craziness began. First came the MTV Movie Awards, where Kristen helped unveil first-look footage from "New Moon," shared a tender moment with Robert Pattinson and proved she's every bit as clumsy as Bella Swan. Later in the year, Kristen would return for the Video Music Awards alongside Rob and Taylor, this time considerably more glamorous.

Somewhere in-between all that, as she continued to shoot "Eclipse" and "The Runaways," KStew swung into San Diego's Comic-Con to hang out with 5,000 of her closest friends and unveil her new Joan Jett haircut.

Ashley Greens Spills 'Twilight Saga Eclipse' secrets -- Well Not Really!

ET exclusively went behind the scenes of Ashley Greene's photo shoot for Teen Prom magazine, where the actress (a.k.a. vamp Alice Cullen) dished about her rigorous fight and stunt training for 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.'

"I was excited about the photo shoot. I wasn't too nervous, I've been in a prom dress before," said 22-year-old Ashley, looking glamorous in a strapless, floor-length purple gown.

"I'm trying to convince them to let me take the dress so I can go out in it," she giggled, "but I don't think it's going to happen."

Ashley, whose Teen Prom issue hits newsstands Dec. 22, also showed off a bruise on her arm (rendered practically invisible with makeup) that she sustained while training for the eagerly awaited third 'Twilight' film, 'Eclipse.'

"Until I had to shoot in prom dresses, I didn't get any bruises. I was doing really well," she smiled. "It's horrible, but it's been really fun. [Our moves] will look really, really good by the time we finally get to the fight sequence because in 'Eclipse' ... we have to fight this new-born vampire army."

She adds that her training involves "a lot of learning to run and jump off walls and land on people's shoulders, and flips and throwing your body just ways that you would never, under any circumstance, normally do."

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' arrives on the big screen June 30, 2010. Meanwhile, 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' is in theaters now.

#GOSEENEWMOONAGAIN!!!!!

Ashley's Teen Prom cover dress will be donated to DonateMyDress.org, which collects gently-worn prom dresses and donates them to girls in need.
