Principal filming on 'Water For Elephants' wrapped last night - a gracious star smiling & waving to fans

As a long hot southern day comes to an end - Francis Lawrence @Hibbits, director of 'Water For Elephants' tweeted that the principal filming of the film was a wrap.  However, one main actor of the film, maintains his graciousness and smiles and waves to the waiting fans as he leaves the set for the last time.

Comparing Breaking Dawn release dates to LOTR & Star Wars (the Bestie does it again!!)

Seeing all of the complaining going on about 'Breaking Dawn' of course encouraged me to do a little research for some perspective on the situation. I used two different movie franchises for comparison:

'Lord of the Rings'

- took 8 years to produce from concept to theater

- filmed over 438 CONSECUTIVE days at over 150 locations

- pickups shot annually from 2001 - 2004

- All three films released almost exactly one year apart. (And let me tell you, as a Ringer myself, that was a LONG wait but so well worth it.)

'Star Wars'

- Each film released every THREE years, from 1977 to 1983. Then came the prequels, which means that the Star Wars franchise has run from 1977 until 1995.

Think about all of the other movie franchises based off of books that we can compare: James Bond; Bourne; Harry Potter; Star Trek.

We can all argue that these franchises are different from Twilight, but I say they're not. They are all based on a book series and each have a very devoted fan base much like ours (ok, maybe not Bourne but you get my point).

And of course it is all about money, but when is it not?

I'm a selfish Twihard and I want there to be no competition for our movie. Had it had a summer release, the competition would have been huge.

More importantly, if taking longer to produce makes a more quality film then please take all the time you want!

In short, IMO we have nothing to complain about...as usual.
