Rob Pattinson Interview from 11/06/09 Press Junkett
Written by Christina Radish Friday, 06 November 2009 22:49
In The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the second chapter in Stephenie Meyer's phenomenally successful series, the romance between mortal and vampire reaches an intense and dangerous new level, and reveals a conflict that will haunt Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) as the story continues. Delving into the age-old rivalry between the Quileute tribe and the vampires, which comes to a head with her best friend, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), and her love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), Bella quickly learns that the supernatural world that she longs to become a part of will put her at more peril than ever before. As the reluctant vampire who has millions of females swooning all over the world, Robert Pattinson has been working non-stop since signing on for the first Twilight film. Having just wrapped filming on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the actor also hopes to make Bel Ami and Unbound Captives, before returning for the final chapter, Breaking Dawn, tentatively set to film in the Fall of 2010.
At the film's press day, Robert Pattinson talking about getting used to life with the world watching your every move.
Q: What has this past year been like for you? How are you dealing with things? Are you more comfortable with everything now?
Rob: I guess it's inevitable that you become more comfortable. You still fight against some things. There's nothing really scary about the franchise itself. I like all the people I work with. I generally have very few disagreements about the script or anything while we're doing it, especially on New Moon. It just seemed so relaxed and easy. I've been on three different sets, since January 14th. I've had like three days off. I'm going to be on set all next year as well. I don't know what doing errands and things is really like 'cause I haven't had a sustained period of time where I've been off. I don't know how it's really changed. I still feel like I'm pretty much exactly the same, which is maybe not a good thing.
Q: Can you talk about working with Chris Weitz, and how the syllabus he gave the cast helped you?
Rob: I've never had that, from any director. It was 40 or 50 pages long, in addition to a bunch of letters and emails, trying to show that he was on the same page as us and was completely with us, in making the film. And, he didn't falter from that attitude, throughout the whole movie. It probably sounds ridiculous how much praise he gets. I was just with him and his wife in Japan, and she was even kind of sick of it. But, he is like a saint. He's one of the best people I've ever met, let alone directors. In a lot of ways, it shows in the movie. It's got a lot of heart, especially for a sequel in a franchise. He's just a great person to work with.
Q: Appearing in most of the movie as only a series of visions, did you feel disjointed from your cast mates at all? Did you wish you were in more of the film?
Rob: Those scenes were the hardest scenes. They weren't really, at the time, but after I saw the first cut of the movie, they changed them quite a bit in the edit and ADR. It's not Edward. It's a manifestation of Bella's loneliness and desperation. It was always very difficult. I asked Kristen, "How would you play it?" It's her opinion, so that was hard. As for being alone, I've always felt a little bit aloof as the character, throughout the whole series. I think that's how he is, so I didn't feel any different.

MTV Talks to Rob Pattinson at New Moon Press Junkett
t' Star Robert Pattinson Addresses Pregnancy Rumors
'Yeah, it's in my armpit because I'm hiding it from everyone,' he jokes.
BEVERLY HILLS, California — Rob and Kristen are engaged. They're going to name their first child a combination of their mothers' names, just like in the "Twilight" books. A big wedding is on the way, quite likely with Bigfoot officiating.
As their fame has grown, so has the insanity level of the rumors about their personal lives. On Friday, "New Moon" star Robert Pattinson sat down with MTV News, and was eager to address one of the more notable bits of news he saw the last time he Googled himself.
"I like the story about me being pregnant," laughed the 23-year-old British heartthrob. "It was in some Australian magazine, on the front page!"
As they've filmed "New Moon" and "Eclipse," Rob and Kristen Stewart have spent the last 12 months going from "the kid in the Harry Potter movies" and "the girl from 'Panic Room' " to the type of people whose every move is meticulously discussed, whether real or not. Luckily, Pattinson has the sort of self-deprecating British wit that allows him to laugh it all off.
"I was like, 'Wow, that's just [insane],' " he said of the pregnancy rumors. "And it's not even ironic.
"I don't even think the article [tried to justify it]; it was just a headline," Spunk Ransom marveled. "The article was just like, nothing."

Does Rob Pattinson Confirm Breaking Dawn?
Rumors had been swirling about the last chapter in the Twilight Saga film franchise: would Breaking Dawn get greenlit or not? While everyone from Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey to star Kristen Stewart managed to stay tight-lipped about the unconfirmed sequel at today's New Moon press conference in Beverly Hills, our hopeful hearts got a piece of very big news about the film from none other than Robert Pattinson.
Answering the last question of the day, Rob shared his shooting schedule for 2010 – including, at least for now, filming the novel adaptation Bel Ami, the western Unbound Captives, and yes, Breaking Dawn.
"I think the tentative time for Breaking Dawn is fall of next year," Pattinson said, adding that Summit "may well change that."
"Depending on how things go I'm doing a movie called Bel Ami in February, which is an adaptation of a Guy de Maupassant novel," he continued. "And I'm doing, I hope, a Western with Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman called Unbound Captives sometime around there as well.

New Moon Star Jamie Cambell Bower Dreads Seeing Himself On Screen
The 20-year-old actor, who plays Caius in the 'Twilight' sequel, says he hates watching his own acting.
By Eric Ditzian
With his platinum-blond locks, blood-red eyes and ghost-pale complexion, the vampire Caius is quite a sight to behold. But the actor playing him in "New Moon," 20-year-old Jamie Campbell Bower, is not looking forward at all to taking in his big-screen counterpart.
"I hate that," he told MTV News. "I don't like to see myself up onscreen at all."
He's luckily been able to push off the cinematic confrontation, as he hasn't yet seen the whole film, unlike others in the cast. "They just won't show it to me!" he joked, adding that he's been so busy working, he hasn't had a chance to catch the full picture.
He did check out a couple of clips while at the International Rome Film Festival, alongside fellow Volturi Charlie Bewley (Demetri) and Cameron Bright (Alec). When he finally does slump down into his theater seat to watch the entirety of the second "Twilight" film — he said he'll be at the Los Angeles premiere on November 16 — Bower might just react the way he did while watching himself during an early screening of the upcoming AMC miniseries, "The Prisoner."

Alpha Leader of the Pack sits down with Seventeen Magazine!
17: What's it like entering this New Moon world?
Chaske Spencer: It's like a hurricane! It's like you are in the eye of the hurricane when you are on set - everything is calm. Then you step out of set and everything in chaos. You don't really feel it until after you come out of production. But it's getting crazy. A few people have recognized me on the street already.
17: Did they prepare you for this? Or, did you assume it would be crazy?
CS: Not really, I didn't know how big this was going to get. When I got to set on New Moon, they talked about how it was going to change your life. I thought, yeah, yeah, yeah. When we started filming Eclipse, that's when it really started kicking in. We had paparazzi everywhere. We can't just walk down the street anymore in Vancouver.
17: Can you tell us about any crazy fans?
CS: We had a couple of girls specifically fly in and they got rooms at our hotel and they would wait there. Girls would also camp out right below our hotel balconies. You would look over the balcony and wave and just hear screams. There were a couple of girls that got on the set of Eclipse. It was really funny because I don't think they expected to make it that far. Once they got there, they just stood there with these wide eyes. Then they realized they got through security - and security is pretty tight! They had to get escorted off, but I give them credit for getting through.

Kristen says "I'm not going to answer you!" LOVE IT!
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kristen Stewart sounds off on her relationship with Robert Pattinson, and I totally love her answer!!!!!
Kristen Stewart, the 19-year-old star of the Twilight franchise, knows that she can come across as sullen and self-conscious in the public eye. But during an exclusive EW roundtable in Vancouver, Canada, where the cast was prepping for their last week of the Eclipse shoot and then the immediate onslaught of publicity for the November 20th release of New Moon, Stewart was funny, quick and outspoken in a wide-ranging conversation with co-stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson.

Robert Pattinson Charms Twilighters in Tokyo
Ecstatic screams and fluttering hearts translate the same in any language.
"Thank you all so much for coming," Robert Pattinson told a crowd of adoring fans in Tokyo, his latest stop on the whirlwind New Moon publicity tour.
"It's always really surprising, whenever we go anywhere in the world, there seems to be so many people everywhere who are just as passionate...It's always just amazing to find that out."
You'd think the British über-heartthrob would be used to it by now.
The largely female crowd started lining up hours ahead of time for Rob's appearance at Shinigawa Intercity Hall, where the ambiguously attached vampire portrayer took questions from the audience—which was instructed beforehand not to inquire about his personal life.

'New Moon' Stars Answer Your Questions About Scooters, Online Haters
Kellan Lutz reveals how he's spending his 'Twilight' paycheck, while Nikki Reed surfs the Web.
By Larry Carroll
Every week, they answer hundreds of questions from reporters. But when true fans are doing the questioning, the stars of "Twilight" always take that into account and seem to answer a little more honestly, a little more frankly, giving us a rare peek behind the curtain at their innermost thoughts.
And so, once again, we're presenting a weeklong jackpot of "New Moon" Stars Answer Your Burning Questions. Keep posting them on our sites, we'll keep bringing them to the stars, and you'll keep getting their unique thoughts on scooters, paparazzi, shopping with KStew and everything else below:
Kellan Lutz
Q: Have you bought anything exciting yet with your "Twilight" earnings?
Lutz: Yes, I bought a scooter! It was amazing. I had no idea, but there are pictures [out there of me on it]; someone was taking pictures. I bought this way downtown, and I didn't see this paparazzi guy — I don't even know how they do what they do. It's so random, but there are dead-on pictures, where I should have been scooting up to them and seen them do it. ... But I love the scooter. I get, like, 100 gallons per mile on it, and it costs five bucks to fill the tank! So that's like a gallon-and-a half, and I go 150 miles. With my car, it's like 15 to 16 miles, so I take that anywhere and everywhere. I live in the Valley, so I can take that anywhere and everywhere [in Los Angeles], and it's fun zipping in and out [of traffic]. It's cool.
