The Deadbolt Feature brings us their Top 5 Highlights of the 'Eclipse' trailer

The official trailer for the Twilight Saga: Eclipse recently hit the web to kick-start a new round of Twilight hype for the third installment in The Twilight Saga. Eclipse continues the story of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) as she struggles to maintain her romance with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but not without the realization that her dear friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) is more than just a friend. The Twilight Saga has already taken the world by storm, as evidenced by the more than $1 billion worldwide box-office haul that the first two films, Twilight and New Moon, have already brought in for Summit Entertainment. The official trailer for Eclipse has already racked up more than a million views and is a testament to the Twilight mania that hasn't lost an ounce of Twilight steam since Stephenie Meyer's novels were first released.

Although the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is less than two minutes, Twilight fans of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner have already gotten the chance to see what Eclipse holds in store for them. Although the majority of the supporting Eclipse characters are noticeably absent, namely the Cullen clan and wolf pack, Bella's family does make a significant appearance.

A Love Triangle, Part Deux

Nothing says more about teenage angst than a romantic triangle and the Twilight Saga certainly has that angle pegged to precision. Fans of the Twilight Saga novels already know about Jacob's revelation to Bella about his love for her, and the Eclipse trailer already has one of the most poignant scenes between Jacob and Bella to date. Jacob professes that he'll fight for Bella until her heart stops beating. It's a little creepy and melodramatic but we'll take it. And where is Edward in all of this? Brooding, most likely, but we all know that Bella is madly in love with her vampire and despite the millions of Team Jacob advocates, the Twilight Saga will stay true to Meyer's storyline for those Twilight fans that know what's to come.

The Volturi Clan Continue to Cause Chaos

Playing a major role in New Moon, the Volturi vampire clan were certainly everything the novel made them out to be - regal, alluring, and in the case of Jane (Dakota Fanning), deceptively evil. Now the Volturi return in Eclipse to ensure Edward makes good on his promise to Bella, it's Jane who dares to threaten the life of Bella yet again. While Edward was able to show his strength in New Moon by keeping Bella safe from the Volturi who wanted her dead, even Edward appears to be outnumbered in the Eclipse trailer by four to one.

The New Victoria

It was the scandal that rocked Eclipse prior to shooting when reports surfaced that actress Rachelle Lefevre had been replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in the role of the villainous, vampire Victoria. A slew of Eclipse rumors set the web on fire with speculation on why Lefevre got the boot and Dallas Howard was brought in as her Eclipse replacement. Although Summit Entertainment explained that the role of Victoria had been recast due to "scheduling conflicts" with Lefevre, the new Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer has a well-executed close-up of Bryce Dallas Howard as the new Victoria after Howard makes an impressive, thrilling leap across a rather sizeable ravine. Now, with Rachelle Lefevre out and Bryce Dallas Howard in as Victoria in Eclipse, it's up to Twilight Saga fans to decide who has done a better job at playing the part.

Bella Swan, an Enigma

In New Moon, Bella Swan went through a rough transition. The Kristen Stewart embodied Bella struggled with the loss of Edward in her life and became a shell of her former self only to regain her will to live as she saves Edward from exposing his identity in Italy. This action was a catalyst not only in drawing the ire of the Volturi clan against Edward and Bella but also in allowing Bella to redefine herself as a stronger, more confident woman. In Eclipse, Bella is emotionally stronger although her heart is still torn between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob who she does love but in a lesser capacity. However, Eclipse is the reaffirmation of Bella's stubbornness and ability to stand by her convictions. Her desire to be turned into a vampire in order to live an immortal life with Edward might be an extreme circumstance of their relationship, but for Bella, there is no 'til death do us part, it is in fact, only the beginning as we can see in the Eclipse trailer.

New Director, New Vision

If there's a common bond between The Twilight Saga and Harry Potter films, it's that new directors have been brought onboard for each movie. For New Moon, it was Chris Weitz. For Eclipse, 30 Days of Night director David Slade was brought in to take the Twilight reigns. With more action and intensity, especially the clip of Victoria, the trailer for Eclipse showcases an incredibly stunning visual scope, with a more thrilling tone than New Moon. After watching the Eclipse trailer, you can feel big things are simmering underneath the surface. Like New Moon, the scenery in Vancouver was key in capturing the mood of the film. Expansive wilderness, tree-covered mountains, lush forests, and the natural scenery are only a cover in the Eclipse trailer for the many new and different forms of conflict and pursuit that we'll see in the third Twilight Saga film. For Slade, and for many fans as well, this is a reconnection to the story of the Twilight Saga, a return to the intrinsic relationships that made the novels so popular in the first place. Three is sometimes a charm and judging by the Eclipse trailer, David Slade may be the director responsible for the best Twilight Saga adaptation to date.
